Loóna, a sleep-improving and mood-enhancing app, became the winner of the Apple Design Awards 2021.

June 10, 2021, San Francisco – Loóna, an app designed to get you in the right mood for sleep, has been announced Apple Design Awards winner for Visuals and Graphics. The winner in this category features stunning imagery, skillfully drawn interfaces, and high-quality animations that lend to a distinctive and cohesive theme.

“Loóna offers gracefully animated sleepscape sessions that combine relaxing activities, storytelling, and atmospheric sounds. Every aspect of its interface — type, color, animation, and 3D content — has been crafted with precision to create a soothing, calming experience”, - Apple Design Awards.

Loóna is an immersive combination of art therapy, interactivity, guided meditation, haptic technology and beautiful music. It allows anyone to disengage and escape into another world by coloring beautiful art scenes called “Sleepscapes” or listening to stories and relaxing beats.

Today Loóna became one of the winners of the Apple Design Awards 2021 which is the most prestigious award for iOS apps and games.

“Our mission at Loóna has always been to reach out to an inner child in each of us. We strived to create the space where everyone could escape to, the place free from worries and stress, full of good memories and magic. The Apple Design Award is the greatest recognition of our pursuit for creative ideas, immersive mobile experience and sleepscapes,” - comments Andrew Yanchurevich, Loóna CEO.

Loóna was created by Andrew Yanchurevich, Eugene Nevgen, Sergey Gonchar, and Dmitry Doryn, the team behind Facebook and Instagram Face Filters (MSQRD). The app is backed by scientific research into health and technology. Loóna is a team of 54 full-time employees, all focused and dedicated to producing interactive experiences that will engage the mind in a restful way. From coders, digital artists, storytellers and 3D composition artists, each sleepscape is a piece of art in its own right and has its own story to reveal.

During the pandemic, the importance of mental health was highlighted numerous times. In order to brave the storm of uncertainty and find peace of mind during lockdowns and self-isolation, people were searching for apps that help to reduce stress and bring good sleep back.

Currently, hundreds of thousands use Loóna across the globe to reduce anxiety, address ADHD or relax after work. The app hit 1M downloads from the App Store and became App of the Year at Google Play in 2020.

Some of Loóna’s investors include: Elefund, Silicon Valley-based VC firm that was the first investor in Calm & Robinhood; Hoxton Ventures, a London-based VC firm whose portfolio includes Deliveroo and Babylon; and Natalia Vodianova, a Supermodel, philanthropist and mental health activist.
